About Us...

Once upon a time, in a place called Pakistan, it was fashionable to be called Certified. Every young person in the country who was not a doctor or an engineer dreamed to be certified by some of the largest organizations in the world. They spent time, effort and money to add a few letters after their names. And then these four guys did not want to spend any of these!

Ahsan Qureshi (aka Wadday Paa Ji or AQPJ), Ali Khan (later known notoriously as Ali Paa Ji), Muhammad Imran (almashoor Mani Paa Ji) and Omair Haroon (OPJ) were lured to the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore with a promise of free training in some software developed by the giant Oracle Corporation of the United States of America. They were told that this was THE path that would lead to HiFi jobs in large organizations and a luxurious lifestyle! Somewhere deep down, they knew that these promises might not turn out to be true but what the heck… IT WAS FREE! What they didn’t know that this ‘training’ would lead them to bunch up and travel far off places all over Pakistan and the tastiest and coolest eateries around. Okay, not SO far off, but still!

The idea was probably conceived (and not discussed) eating samosas at PC (Phola Canteen), UET. Or  maybe at Butt Sweets in Garhi Shahu. Or Waris Nihari at Mozang. You get the point, don’t you? For those who don’t, the idea was that life is all about eating good and going places (as good and as far as your finances permit). The idea is now called the Paa Ji Club (PJC).

The Club then expanded its membership by 20%. We are five now, with the addition of a UK based Paa Ji, Adnan Paa Ji (AdPJ). PJC aims to continue awaragardi around the country and the countries around our country and sampling cuisines.

Current Members:

AQPJ is working for the largest cellular services organization in Pakistan

APJ is managing operations of a brokerage house in Pakistan

AdPJ is working as an auditor in one of the Big 4 accounting firms in the UK

IPJ is providing consultancy as data analyst in Australia

OPJ is teaching accounting at a business school in Pakistan

One of the very nicest things about life is the way we must regularly stop whatever it is, we are doing, and devote our attention to eating.
